The Charter

As a continuity of naval etiquette, and in the spirit perpetuated by the seafaring community, La Belle Classe is based upon the sharing of common values within a club comprising period and classic yacht owners and enthusiasts of those vessels, dedicated to carrying on the long traditions of skills, prestige, elegance, and excellence which constitute the principal foundations of their art of living.
Being fully aware of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s policies on behalf of the preservation of maritime heritage, of the observance of naval etiquette and respect of their associated values, should those be the art of living, knowledge and skills, or the protection of the marine environment, and sharing the will to preserve those common values in order to pass them on to future generations,
Each member undertakes to respect La Belle Classe Charter and its three fundamental values: - Respect for the Maritime Heritage and its Yachts

- Respect for the Sea and the Environment

The objectives are as follows:
- The preservation of the maritime heritage and respect of all units and elements considered as forming part of, or being ancillary to, that heritage,
- The respect of history, and the maintenance and conservation of the yacht which the owner has under his care, and on behalf of which the owner shall make every effort to preserve its authenticity and maintain it to its original conception,
- The observance of marine customs and regulations concerning mutual assistance – the fellowship and welcome in accordance with naval etiquette, on land as at sea,
- Participation in gatherings of traditional yachts, demonstrating courteous behaviour fitting of a gentleman at all times with regard to all, be they other competitors, yachts, or persons requiring assistance or protection of whatsoever nature,
- The sharing and the communication of the pleasure of the sea and its values,
- Respect for the environment and for the sea.
