How do you introduce a new member to the YCM ?

Any Society Member of the YCM, with the exception of the Committee Board Members, can sponsor a new candidate. The sponsor’s role when introducing a new member is key. It is their responsibility to help newcomers to integrate into the life of the Yacht Club, not only to accompany and introduce them to other members, but also to involve them in events organized by the Club, be they social or sporting activities.
The candidate needs to fill in an admission form, which is then signed by the applicant and the two sponsors. This form should be picked up from the Services to Members desk by one of the sponsors, and must be accompanied by a letter of introduction from the proposer, explaining the applicant’s motives for joining the Club. Incomplete files will not be accepted.

What are the advantages of becoming a member?

To be a member of the Yacht Club de Monaco is above all a commitment. It is a desire to preserve a certain ethic, both on land and on the water, and to foster a respect for naval etiquette and preservation of the environment. The philosophy of the Yacht Club de Monaco is based on the need to perpetuate but also to pass on a heritage, inherited from our ancestors, to ensure that the Yacht Club remains a lively and progressive place.

To become a member is to embrace a “club spirit” based on loyalty to certain rules and principles, and to disseminate this spirit as widely as possible. It is to encourage each person’s initiatives, to favour dialogue between members, and to defend the values of solidarity and willingness to help all those who love the sea. At the same time it is to ensure yachting is encouraged in a Principality which is always on the move: these are the aims of the members of the Yacht Club de Monaco, who have perfected a certain “Art de Vivre la Mer” in their daily lives… YCM Society Members can access all the facilities of the Clubhouse, the numerous sports and social activities offered all year long as well as many other privileges. Access your Privileges page

When is the new building planned to be launched? What are the new structures planned to be available?

The complex, which will be a real focus for nautical activities, will be delivered in spring 2013. It will include numerous other spaces, such as an exhibition room, the Nautical Society and the Sporting Section of Monaco Yacht Club for Young People and Adults. A restaurant will also be available for club members, as in the current building, along with new features such as a terrace, a swimming pool, a car park and five cabins for stopovers for important guests.  View more information...

As a Society Member of the YCM, can you stopover in any foreign Clubs and enjoy their services?

An allied member of the Yacht Club de France, the Yacht Club de Monaco is also twinned with ten prestigious clubs and maintains reciprocal agreements with around forty others all over the world. View the International Clubs network map.

Twinning between clubs enables free access for members of the twinned clubs to both club premises, restaurants & lounges, and the services on offer, by presenting their membership card. Reciprocity agreements enable, on another hand, to stopover in any Reciprocal Clubs, with free access to their Clubhouse, by presenting their membership card together with an introduction letter from the YCM.

To obtain this letter, please click on the link thereafter FIntroduction Letter Form or contact the Service to Members desk (+377 93 10 63 00).
